Pick a sample script, generate the cards and rate each one. The demo uses prepared sample cards. In the app they are written from your own material.
Step 1 · Pick a source
Step 2 · Writing cards from the source
Each card comes back right before you would forget it. This is when you would see these again:
How it works
A PDF, a Word document, a lecture recording, a video, a photo of your notes or plain text. Several sources can go into one note.
Heyblocks reads the whole source and writes question-and-answer cards from it. Edit any card, add your own or delete the ones you do not need.
Rate each card from Again to Easy. The scheduler brings it back right before you would forget it, and an optional email tells you when cards are due.
Why digital flashcards
A full deck from your lecture slides in minutes, instead of an evening spent copying definitions onto cards.
The cards come from your script, so they cover what your exam covers and use your lecturer's terms.
Spaced repetition with FSRS decides when each card is due. You open the deck and study what is on the list.
Turn the same material into a quiz and a summary to check whether you really understood it.
Runs in the browser with nothing to install. Create the deck on your laptop, review it on the bus.
Export any deck as an Anki .apkg file whenever you like. Nothing is locked in.
FAQ

You can start for free without a credit card. New accounts get starting credit to try it on real material. Paid plans exist for heavier use.
No. Heyblocks has its own study mode with spaced repetition, the one you can try in the demo above. If you already use Anki, you can export any deck as an .apkg file.
Yes. Edit any card, add your own and delete the ones you do not need. The generated deck is a starting point, not a fixed result.
PDF and Word documents, audio and video recordings, images and plain text files. You can combine several sources in one note before generating the cards.
Heyblocks is a web app. It runs in the browser on your phone, tablet and computer, so there is nothing to install. You need a free account so your decks and progress are saved.
